NOVA Entertainment has launched a new workday music format, tagged ‚ÄėNova‚Äôs Greatest Hits Workday‚Äô.
The new strategy has been rolled out nationally as of Monday June 18, and will be in place weekdays.
Radio Today reached out to¬†NOVA Entertainment‚Äôs group program director Paul Jackson, who said;¬†‚ÄúThe greatest hits have always been the core of Nova and we will continue to play the biggest hits and champion the latest songs across the work day.‚ÄĚ
The new strategy was already evident the first hour of rollout this morning across the network, with plenty of 90s and naughties songs added.
Looking at Nova 96.9‚Äės playlist between 9-10am this morning, among standard CHR spins there were also plenty of older tunes including ‚ÄėSemi Charmed Life‚Äô by Third Eye Blind (1997), ‚ÄėIf You Had My Love‚Äô by Jennifer Lopez (1999), ‚ÄėApologise‚Äô by Timbaland (2007) and more.
The move comes off the back of 2DayFM‚Äôs music strategy change from ‚ÄėHits and Old School‚Äô to ‚ÄėMore Music, More Variety‚Äô at the start of the year, which has seen songs dating back to the 70s and 80s and 90s become playlist staples.
